DH or No DH?

There has been much debate about there being a designated hitter in the National League in recent years. They experimented with this rule in the shortened 2020 season and many fans want it to be a permanent thing. It seems likely that it is going to happen in the near future with more and more fans getting on board with it.  I, however, would like to see the opposite thing happen and have the pitchers bat in both the American League and the National League.

If you add the designated hitter, it takes the strategy out of the game. The manager would not have the hard decision each game deciding whether he wants to have his pitcher hit down one run or bring in a batter that has a better chance getting on base. I love watching pitchers bat in big situations and nothing beats a pitcher going yard against a fellow pitcher. Pitchers should definitely be batting in both leagues because it just brings character to the game. Having a designated hitter brings nothing to the game because you could have the same nine guys batting the whole game without using your bench.

There should be absolutely no reason why the National League should adopt the designated hitter. I enjoy watching pitchers swing at pitches in the dirt and having to bunt to advance a runner to second or third base. If anything, the American League should start having the pitchers hit because it brings more to the game. If the National League had a designated hitter, we would have never been able to see Bartolo Colon mash a home run in San Diego or Felix Hernandez hit a grand slam when the Mariners were playing the Mets in New York. I love being able to see a pitcher succeed at the plate and having the pitcher bat should continue to be a thing in the National League.
