College Football Top 10

Things are getting crazy in college football and it seems like every week multiple top 10 teams lose and fall out of my top 10. The contenders continue to separate themselves as we head into the second half of the season.

1. Georgia Bulldogs

There is no doubt that this is the best team in college football right now. Georgia has been playing lights out on both sides of the ball and that is what makes them title favorites. It is going to be hard for anyone to beat this team and I do not see them losing until, at least, the SEC Championship game where they would probably play Alabama.

2. Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati had a scare against Navy on the weekend but they were able to escape with a much-needed win. They can easily make the playoffs as long as they continue to win because everyone seems to be losing at least one game this year. We could finally see a group of 5 school make it to the playoffs for the first time ever and it will be a great underdog story.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama has fought back to the number three spot after their loss to Texas A&M because of teams in front of them continue to lose and have bad performances. This team will be in the playoffs more than likely as long as they do not have another regular season loss. If they were to lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship game, it would make things interesting to see if the committee puts them in with two losses.

4. Oklahoma Sooners

This team continues to be confusing after I thought they may have pulled things together. They were trailing to Kansas at halftime on Saturday and barely pulled out the win after there was a questionable call. This team might not even deserve this high of a ranking and if they lose once they will not be making the playoffs at all and have no shot at coming close. This is not a championship team in any way.

5. Oregon Ducks

Oregon squeezed out another win and they still only have one loss with a win against Ohio State on their resume. They could be undefeated if it was not for a bad call in the Stanford game that made them suffer their only loss. This team needs to continue to win and they could make their way into the playoff conversation at the end of the year.

6. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have been playing better football ever since their loss to Oregon. The Big Ten is so strong that whoever wins it will probably be in the playoffs fo it will be interesting to see who wins it. If Ohio State loses one more game that will make it interesting as well because that means they would have two losses.

7. Michigan State Spartans

Another Big Ten team that is in my rankings and this is a surprise team. No one thought that Michigan State would be in this position but here they are. Michigan State is undefeated and if they somehow win out against their hard schedule it would be amazing and they would be in the playoffs without a doubt.

8. Michigan Wolverines

Michigan is back? They could be if they can play competitive football against Michigan State and Ohio State when they play them. The Big Ten is absolutely stacked and they even have Iowa and Penn State that are not even in the top 10 but they are right outside of it.

9. Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss is looking great under Lane Kiffin and their only loss was to Alabama. They deserve a top 10 spot because the SEC is stacked as well. The SEC and Big Ten are both powerhouses and they are definitely the top conferences in college football at this point.

10. Kentucky Wildcats

Just like Ole Miss, Kentucky only has one loss and it is to a Georgia team that is better than Alabama. Kentucky has beaten Florida and they are looking better than they have in years past. No one is going to beat Georgia so we should not punish Kentucky for losing to them.

College Football Top 10

The college football season is entering the back half of the season so that means teams are starting to separate themselves from the others. Below, are my top ten teams so far, this year. Comment what teams should be higher or lower and what teams I missed.

1. Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia looks unstoppable and I believe that the championship is theirs to lose. Their defense is so good and their offense has been playing well too. They just beat a ranked Kentucky team and they have beat other quality opponents as well this year. I think that they are going to run right through the SEC and have the number one seed in the playoffs where they will run right to the championship.

2. Cincinnati Bearcats

Thanks to a loss from the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Bearcats find themselves in my number two spot. They are looking to become the first group of five school to ever make the playoffs and they are in good shape. They still have not unveiled the College Football Playoff rankings, but I think if the Bearcats can just win out, they will be in.

3. Oklahoma Sooners

I have been skeptical of the Sooners all season, but they now have switched their starting quarterback to Caleb Williams and are looking like a better team. Williams was throwing the ball all over the field and it makes you think if Clemson should do the same thing for their struggling offense. Oklahoma gets put in my number three spot for the new life that they are playing with.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama destroyed Mississippi State this weekend after losing to Texas A&M last week. They are still a playoff team in my mind but I think they might need to win the SEC to make the playoffs so that means they are going to need to beat a very good Georgia team. It is going to be hard for them to make it as a two-loss team unless Cincinnati loses a game that pushes them out of the playoffs.

5. Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State would have beat Iowa if they had a healthy Sean Clifford for the whole game. That would have them at number two in my rankings, but instead they are now in my number five spot. If they can find a way to win out, they will be in the playoffs as the Big Ten champion. The Big Ten is very strong and Penn State still has to go through a tough schedule so they are going to have to earn their spot.

6. Oregon Ducks

The Ducks have one bad loss, but they also have a great win over Ohio State. The Ducks get my number six spot after some debate over whether or not Michigan deserves a high ranking after seeing their weak schedule. I like Oregon in this spot until they have another bad game or a loss. Oregon can still make their way into the thick of the playoff race.

7. Ohio State Buckeyes

The only loss that Ohio State has suffered was to the Oregon Ducks. They are now 5-1 and are in a very competitive Big Ten. The Big Ten could be even better than the SEC with five teams in the top 11. Whoever wins the Big Ten deserves a spot in this year's playoffs because of how competitive that it is this year.

8. Michigan State Spartans

We are putting Michigan State in this spot due to their seven wins that they have over Michigan's six. These teams in the Big Ten are going to be beating up on each other for the rest of the year which is going to be so fun to watch how it plays out. Michigan State has found themselves right in the thick of this Big Ten chaos.

9. Michigan Wolverines

Could Michigan finally be back? They are now in the top ten in the AP poll and my poll and they now get to face the hardest part of their schedule. We are finally going to see if they can hang with the other top teams in the Big Ten like Penn State, Michigan State, and Michigan. Michigan is playing good enough football to keep them in this top ten.

10. Oklahoma State Cowboys

It could be the battle of Oklahoma this year in the Big 12 and it could be a great matchup. Oklahoma State keeps winning and that is what puts them in the top ten of my rankings. They could easily make it to the matchup with Oklahoma as an undefeated team.

College Football Top 10

Another crazy week in college football has led to a major shakeup in the top ten. Comment down below what teams I missed and what teams should be higher or lower.

1. Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs finally find themselves in the number one spot after Alabama lost to Texas A&M. Georgia would have probably been number one even if Alabama had pulled out that win because they have just been the better team this year. Georgia's defense has been amazing and they have been putting their opponent's offense in a tough spot every week. I would like to say we should already hand them the National Championship, but we still have a long way to go and a lot can change before the end of the year.

2. Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa got a huge win over Penn State this weekend which propels them into the second spot. They were down throughout most of the game and they might have been saved by the fact that Penn State's quarterback was injured and had to leave the game. If that did not happen, we might be seeing Penn State in this position instead. Iowa is undefeated and there are only a few teams left without any blemishes on their record. Iowa could find their way into the playoffs if they can find a way to win out.

3. Cincinnati Bearcats
We could finally see a group of five school in the playoffs this year, as the Bearcats have found their way into the top 4 of my rankings. They can accomplish this feat by just winning out because if they get just one loss, they will more than likely be out of the playoffs. This team could very easily win their remaining games and if they can, it will pretty much guarantee a spot in the top four.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide
Despite their loss, Alabama is still a top four team in the nation. They have better wins and more explosive power than the rest of the teams behind them. They should definitely be in everyone's top four until they lose another game or have another weak performance. The SEC is stacked and we might see two teams from the SEC make it into the playoffs this year if Georgia and Alabama can keep it up. Alabama should be fine and I expect a rebound for them this week.

5. Oklahoma Sooners
I do not know how to rank Oklahoma because they are undefeated but they have been only squeaking by in all of their wins. They were down 21 on Saturday against Texas and found a way to come back and win the game in a shootout. Oklahoma will have to start winning their games in convincing fashion to even have a shot for the playoffs. I could see some one loss teams jumping them in the rankings if they continue their poor play.

6. Penn State Nittany Lions
Penn State had a heartbreaking loss on Saturday as they lost to the Iowa Hawkeyes. They probably would have won that game if Sean Clifford would have never been injured and taken out of the game. It is a big loss for Penn State because they now have an uphill climb to the playoffs. They needed that win big time and now they have to win out while playing a brutal upcoming schedule.

7. Michigan Wolverines
Michigan almost lost to Nebraska on Saturday but they escaped and they are now undefeated. This could be the year they can finally beat Ohio State for the first time in forever. The Big Ten also finds themselves in a good spot with a ton of good teams that have a shot in making the playoffs. Michigan might have their best team that they have had under Jim Harbaugh.

8. Oregon Ducks
Oregon had a bye week this week after they were upset by Stanford. They were looking good after beating Ohio State a few weeks prior and were up to number three in the AP Poll. The Ducks are the highest ranked Pac-12 team and they can still make a push for the playoffs if the can find a way to win the rest of their games.

9. Ohio State
Ohio State has been playing better lately after they lost to Oregon. They cannot jump over Oregon in the rankings just yet because of that loss, but they could make that jump soon. If Oregon has a could bad weeks and Ohio State can continue to win over good teams, then they can easily jump over Oregon in my rankings.

10. Kentucky Wildcats
The top nine in my rankings are easy to decide, but the tenth spot was the hardest to decide. Kentucky gets the tenth spot after they have beaten the Florida Gators. They could shake these rankings up tremendously if they can find a way to beat Georgia this weekend. A win over Georgia, could propel them into my top 5 easily. Even if they do not find a way to win but play Georgia close, Kentucky will probably still be in my top 10.

College Football Top 10

Another great week of college football has ended and it has caused a shake up in my top 10 rankings. Comment down below who you think I missed and who should be higher or lower.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama beat 12th ranked Ole Miss this week, 42-21, to keep their number 1 spot in my rankings. After Georgia had an amzing performance before them, I knew Alabama would have to have a good performance to keep the number 1 spot. They are hanging on and Georgia is creeping up to the number one spot with their amazing defense.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

Talk about an amazing defense. Georgia has only allowed 16 points on defense through five games this season and it has been against some good teams. It is tempting to put them at the number one spot and if they have another strong performance next week, they might find themselves there. It is looking more and more likely that we will see a Georgia vs. Alabama SEC Championship Game which everyone would tune in to watch.

3. Penn State Nittany Lions

Thanks to a loss by Oregon, the Nittany Lions find themselves ranked number 3 in my rankings. They have been playing solid football and they keep moving up in the rankings and if they keep winning they will be able to stay in this spot till the end of the year.

4. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes fell out of the top 4 in my rankings last week but got pushed back in this week. They have had some solid wins and they have been doing enough to have them in the top 4. This team could make the playoffs for the first time if they can continue to win.

5. Cincinnati Bearcats

The Cincinnati Bearcats had their biggest win in the last two years on Saturday by beating Notre Dame 24-13. Their playoff chances have increased dramatically as they look to be the first group of 5 school to make it since the playoff format was adopted.

6. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have had some close games butthey had a pretty convincing win against Rutgers on Saturday. If the Buckeyes could continue this level of play, they could easily find themselves in the playoffs because of their tough schedule. They are probably going to need to win out to make the playoff, but they could easilty do that.

7. Michigan Wolverines

Could this be the year that Michigan can beat Ohio State? They have definitely been playing good football this year and they could finally do something they have not done in a long time and that is beating Ohio State. It seems like the top 10 is only Big 10 and SEC team and a good percentage of them are.

8. Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma is playing like Notre Dame is but the only difference is that they do not have a loss. They have been squeaking out wins against teams that they shoud easily beat and that is not good for when they start to play better teams. It could also help them if they finally find a groove and start winning convincingly.

9. Oregon Ducks

Oregon was handed their first loss on Saturday when Stanford beat them in overtime. It is a hard pill to swallow for Ducks' fans since they were looking good and had a great chance for the playoffs, now they have to work their way back in.

10. BYU Cougars

BYU has found their way into the top ten after they lost Zach Wilson to the NFL. It is surprising that they have played well after they almost lost to Arizona which is not that good of a team this year. BYU could make a run here and get them close to the playoff hunt.

College Football Top 10

A wild week of college football has shifted my rankings for this week. Comment who should be higher or lower and who should be on the list.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

I was tempted in putting Georgia at number 1 after they demolished Vanderbilt but Alabama did the same thing against Southern Miss. The SEC is absolutely stacked and we could possibly see three SEC teams in the playoffs after the ACC has pretty much blown any shot at getting a team in there.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia was up 35-0 against Vanderbilt and when I saw that, they were on there way to my number 1 spot. They are creeping up on Alabama as the best team and they could catch them if they continue this high level of play. It is going to be fun to see how this battle will end up at the end of the year.

3. Oregon Ducks

Oregon is an easy pick for the number 3 spot with having a win against Ohio State and convincing wins against their other opponenets. The detroyed Arizona on Saturday and are playing great football at the moment.

4. Penn State

Penn State makes the jump into the top 4 this week after they had a strong win against Villanova and some weak performances by the schools ahead of them. This might be the best Penn State team under James Franklin and if they continue this play they will be in the playoff at the end of the year.

5. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes drop one position from last week's ranking due to their lackluster performance against Colorado State. They are still a good football team but Penn State jumps over them because they have had better wins in my opinion.

6. Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas was predicted last in the SEC this year and now they are ranked 6th in my top 10 rankings and 8th in the AP poll. They have been playing good football and they continued that this week by beating Texas A&M who was ranked in the top 10 before the game. The most unlikely SEC team is making their case for the top 4.

7. Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati had an off week this week but that keeps them in the top 10 at number 7. They have not shown too much this year but they can still run the table and make a case for the playoff as they look to become the first group of 5 school to make it.

8. Florida Gators

A one-loss team this early is crazy but the Gators one loss was aginst Alabama. This team is really good and they are outperforming the other two teams in this list. The Gators beat Tennessee convincingly this week and that is what puts them at number 8.

9. Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooner had another close win this week by barely squeaking out a win against West Virginia. Oklahoma is going to have to start stepping up in these games if the want any shot at the playoff. They are looking horrible and they are beating teams that they should beat by over two scores.

10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Notre Dame got their first quality win on Saturday by beating Wisconsin. The game was close entering the 4th quarter but Notre Dame ended up blowing them out. I do not trust them still after they have had a few questionable games.

College Football Top 10

Another week of college football has been completes and it was a crazy week with some great games. This week, I will be ranking my top 10 teams instead of top 6. Let me know how I did in the comments down below.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Again, Alabama will be in this spot until they lose or they play badly against an unranked team. They had a scare this week by narrowly beating the Florida Gators 31-29. This is an easy choice for the first spot in my rankings.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs are staying in the same spot as they were last week but they absolutely destroyed the South Carolina Gamecocks this week. This team has an amazing defense and they showed off their offensive power this week. This team could easily challenge Alabama for the SEC title and contend for a National Championship.

3. Oregon Ducks

Oregon stays at the number 3 sport after beating Stony Brook this week. They started off slow but they ended up comfortably winning on Saturday improving to 3-0. There is a sizable gap between the top 2 teams and Oregon but they are comfortably in the third position in these ranking.

4. Iowa Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes beat Kent State this week but it is enough to keep them in my fourth position. The top 4 stays the same as there were no surprises this week and I believe that these are the four best teams right now, no question about it.

5. Oklahoma Sooners

I am not sold on Oklahoma yet since they have had two close games against inferior opponents. They struggled against Tulane and they did not do too good against Nebraska on Saturday. Oklahoma is going to have to show me more to be in the top 4.

6. Texas A&M

The Aggies lost their staring quarterback last week as Haynes King fractured his leg against Colorado. Texas A&M was able to squeeze by the Buffaloes last week and they followed up that performance by beating the New Mexico Lobos 34-0. This is another team that I do not have too much faith in but they have not lost a game yet and that is what keeps them in the top 10.

7. Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati had to come from behind to beat the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday to improve to 3-0. They have a bye week next week and then it is off to Notre Dame where we will see if this team is for real. If they can beat Notre Dame I could see this team shoot up my rankings close to the top 4.

8. Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State has been playing solid football this year and that is what puts them in the top 10. James Franklin needs this team to perform well this year or he could be on his way out of Happy Valley. Penn State has yet to find their way ever since Joe Paterno left, but this could be the year.

9. Florida Gators

The Gators are my first team in these rankings that has one loss. They almost pulled off the upset on Saturday when they lost 31-29 to top ranked Alabama. The SEC is strong once again this year and that is why there are 4 teams in my top 10 (Or should is say five teams haha).

10. Clemson Tigers

People are probably going to think that I am crazy putting the Tigers this low after their only loss has been to Georgia. If you watched the game on Saturday, you saw the Tigers have offensive problems against Georgia Tech. Their defense is elite but their offense is going to have to show me something to put them any higher on this list.

CFB Playoff Picture

Two great weeks of college football are in the books. We have seen what teams have separated themselves from the field and are the top teams in college football. I know that it is early, but here are my top 6 teams in college football at this time after two weeks of play. This gives you my four teams that would be in the playoffs if they started today and the first two teams on the outside looking in.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama is not even a question here at number one for me. They blew out Miami in week 1 and followed it up with a blowout against Mercer. They will be at the top spot until they lose a game or if they show a weakness and another team has a great win.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

This is a team that has a chance to take the first spot away from Alabama if they continue to play well. Their defense has allowed only 3 POINTS in their first two games and one of those was against Clemson. Georgia has a great chance to take over the number one sport if their defense continues to be dominant. The SEC is loaded once again this year and they take the first two spots in my top six.

3. Oregon Ducks

Oregon had an amazing performance against Ohio State and that shot them up all the way to number 3 in my rankings. They gave Ryan Day and the Buckeyes their first regular season loss since 2018 and they did it when everyone thought Ohio State would handle them. Oregon is looking like they are a threat to make the four team playoff and make some noise this season.

4. Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa comes in at the fourth position in my rankings after they beat their in-state rival, Iowa State. The Hawkeyes gets a big win put on their resume to strengthen their case to make the playoff if it comes down to that in December.

5. Clemson Tigers

The Tigers are the first team out of my playoffs despite one loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. They got manhandled by the Georgia defense but that was changed in week 2 against an FCS school. They will be in the conversation for the playoff at the end of the year and that loss to Georgia will not hurt them too bad.

6. Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners were on upset watch in week 1 against Tulane and they absolutely destroyed Western Carolina. This team is still hard to rank since they have not played a quality opponent yet and that will not change next week as they play the Nebraska Cornhuskers who have struggled to find an identity under Scott Frost.

Who should be higher and who should be lower on this list. Let me know in the comments and clink the link below to vote in a poll.

New Teams to the Big 12?

The Big 12 has officially extended invitation to four new schools to join their conference. BYU, Houston, UCF, and Cincinnati have all received an invitation and they are likely to all accept to be a part of the "new" Big 12. This announcement comes after Texas and Oklahoma decided to leave the conference to join the SEC which is a big blow for the Big 12 since those are probably the biggest teams in the conference.

I believe that these four schools are solid choices for the Big 12 since they all have solid football programs as well as other programs. I read something today on Instagram saying that the four schools they invited all have more wins in the past 10 years than Texas does in football. They all play in weaker conferences but it is still a very interesting stat since football is one of the most popular sports in college and all four of these schools have solid programs. I think that the Big 12 did a great job in trying to find replacements that will be competitive right away. The schools are not expected to join the conference until 2023-2024 so they still have some time to build up their teams before joining.

With this announcement, it opens the door to other conferences to possibly expand by inviting other mid majors. I think some of the front runners to possibly join a Power 5 conference are Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Boise State, and Memphis. I think that both App State and Coastal Carolina could join the ACC to join other Carolina teams like Clemson, North Carolina, Wake Forest, NC State and Duke. Boise State could join the Pac-12 and Memphis could possibly join the Big Ten. Eventually, I believe that these conferences are going to get close to 20 teams each in the near future to continue to grow college sports.
