1. Sam Darnold takes flight against the Jets?
The New York Jets visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday where the Jets face off against their former quarterback. The Jets traded Darnold over the offseason to Carolina and ended up drafting his replacement in the first round of this year's draft when they picked Zach Wilson out of BYU. Darnold will want to make a good impression with his new team and what better way to start with playing his old team. Will Darnold be able to lead the Panthers to the win? Or will Zach Wilson lead his young Jets team to a win in his first career start? I think that it is going to be a close game and both quarterbacks will play well with Sam Darnold getting the last laugh against his former team. Zach Wilson will play well for his first career start but will probably make a few mistakes that will ultimately cost the Jets.
2. Donald and the Rams beat up Dalton?
Many people questioned Matt Nagy's decision to start Andy Dalton in the Bears opener after Justin Fields had an amazing preseason. This lead many people to wonder, how long will Andy Dalton be the starter in Chicago? Well, it will not be easy for Dalton in his first start in a Bears uniform as he takes on Aaron Donald and the Rams defense. This will be a tough test for Dalton to see if he has what it takes to be the starter this season for the Bears. I believe that Dalton will have his moments in this game but he will have a hard time with the Rams defense and not be able to produce leaving Bears' fans calling for Fields to start next game.
3. New Orleans and Green Bay battle in Jacksonville?
Hurricane Ida left the New Orleans Saints without a home for the first few weeks of the season after it went through the Louisiana area in late August. This forced the Saints to find a temporary home for at least their first home game of the season which is this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. The city of Jacksonville and the Jaguars have welcomed the Saints to the city with open arms and it should be an entertaining game as Jameis Winston faces off against Aaron Rodgers. I believe that it will be a close game and in the end I think the Packers will win but I think the Saints have a good shot at pulling off the upset behind Jameis Winston's surprising performance. People fail to realize that Winston could be a great quarterback if he just figures out how to not throw as many interceptions.
4. Can the Ravens run from their injury woes?
After the Ravens lost three running backs to season ending injury in just 12 days, it has led them to sign a flurry of veteran running backs to help with their run game. In just a few days, the Ravens signed Le'Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman, and Latavius Murray to deals after they saw their starters go down with injuries that will end their season. They will be going into Monday's game with Ty'son Williams as their lead back who has never had an NFL carry. This may hurt the Ravens since they were the league's leading rusher as a team last season and it might put more pressure on Lamar Jackson to make throws down the stretch of this game. I think that the Ravens will find a way to win this game on Monday night and rush for 150 yards despite missing their main backfield.
5. Fitzpatrick flashes some magic against the Chargers?
Ryan Fitzpatrick makes his first career start for the Washington Football Team against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. Fitzpatrick has been known to be a solid starter for teams and often has magical games which has gotten him the nickname "Fitzmagic." Justin Herbert is coming off an amazing rookie season and will be looking to make a jump his second year, possibly into the playoffs. I think that it will be a back and forth game and Fitzpatrick will get the last laugh with a game winning drive in the 4th quarter. The Washington Football Team will need a strong performance since their NFC East rival had a strong showing against the defending Super Bowl Champ on Thursday.
