Thursday Night Football Recap

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out on top over the the Dallas Cowboys winning a 31-29 thriller. Dak Prescott and Tom Brady combined to throw over 700 yards and 7 touchdowns in the shootout. The teams when back and forth all game and it ultimately ended up being the team who had the ball last which was the Buccaneers.

The Dallas Cowboys impressed me tonight and Dak Prescott was back to his old self throwing for 403 yards and 3 touchdowns. Fantasy owners are going to be glad that they picked Prescott, Amari Cooper, and CeeDee Lamb because they are going to put up a ton of points this year. The NFC East should be fun to watch with a two team battle between the Cowboys and the Washington Football Team for the division title.

Tom Brady was back throwing dimes in his first game of the season and he was doing it with guys people thought were washed up. Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski were amazing last night with both of them being key pieces to the offense. They scored three touchdowns combined and had over 200 yards together as well. If they continue like this, the NFC South should be scared as well as the rest of the league.

The kicking was the big story of the game with Greg Zuerlein giving up 7 points on his missed kicks and Ryan Succop being perfect with a game winning field. Bradley Pinion also showed off his leg with an amazing first punt of the game that probably made Pat McAfee proud by kicking it out of bounds perfectly at the 2 yard line. Special teams ended up being a big reason why the Buccaneers won this game and the Cowboys lost. Who knows, if Zuerlein made all of his kicks we could be talking about how the Cowboys beat the defending Super Bowl Champs.

  1. Great game. A lot better than I was expecting. I think a major key also is that Dallas never got to Brady or even rattled him. Of course he will play till he is 50 if he never gets hit!
